Ficus lyrata, commonly known as the fiddle-leaf fig, is a species of flowering plant in the mulberry and fig family Moraceae. It is native to western Africa, from Cameroon west to Sierra Leone, where it grows in lowland tropical rainforest.
Surely the most popular houseplant of the decade?? A beautiful plant with large rich green glossy foliage, great for a well lit room or corner. Repot your fiddle fig if you want it to grow taller, liquid feed in the growing months every month and allow to dry out a little between watering. Don’t allow it to sit in water or it will drop leaves and suffer from root rot.
This indoor plant grows to about 2 metres indoors although they can be trimmed to prevent them growing taller. If they are kept in small pots this will restrict their growth. When these plants mature in age and size they make a great feature point within living rooms, hallways and offices. Also suitable for outdoor use make great container specimens for balconies and courtyards.
How often should I fertilize my plant?
