How much does a vertical garden cost?
Pricing will vary depending on your space, requirements and chosen plants. An example installation might look like this:
2m x 3m Balcony Wall
18 panels + plants @ $295 each
8 hours of labour @ $175 per hour
3m of irrigation @ $100 per metre

How to build a vertical garden
Terrace green walls are installed by an experienced team who will install your wall, curate and plant your wall and make sure you have all the information you need to maintain your green wall before they leave.
We use a modular planting system which is flexible to suit all kinds of spaces so we can build around your space, whether it’s a simple balcony wall or a larger design which needs to factor in building obstacles.

Vertical garden installation
When you book a green wall consultation with us, we’ll take you through all the steps from planning to installation. Here’s what you can expect when you you work with the Terrace Outdoor Living Team
- First we will measure your space, or if you have already got the measurements share these with us to review.
- We’ll work with you to design your perfect vertical garden, taking into account the exposure, climate and size of your space. Let us know your favourite plants or any special requirements and we’ll deliver a visual proposal and quote.
- We source and supply all the plants, planters and everything you need and deliver it in one installation.
- On installation day we will build, plant, and water your green wall. All you have to do is sit back back and enjoy your beautiful new vertical garden!
Frequently asked questions
How easy is it to maintain a vertical garden?
It’s very easy. Because of the water efficiency, you only need to water it every few days.. Outdoor walls might vary based on the weather. Aside from watering, you just need to do the odd bit of pruning to keep the plants happy.
Can I build a vertical herb garden?
Yes. Vertical herb gardens are an excellent solution if you only have a small outdoor space. Certain herbs prefer different light-levels, watering and ‘plant-neighbours’, book a consultation with us to discuss the best design for your vertical herb garden.
Do you offer indoor green walls?
Yes, we can design and install indoor vertical gardens and green walls, however they can be slightly more complex to design given building requirements. Get in touch with us if you’re planning an indoor garden wall and we can discuss your options.
Do you offer on-going maintenance for green walls?
Yes. We offer a residential and commercial plant maintenance service, but we’re also on hand for one off maintenance, tidy-ups and redesigns.
What are the best plants for a vertical garden?
The best plants for a vertical garden or green wall are dependant on location e.g. for full sun we would suggest succulents and for shade many varieties of philodendron and some ferns are suitable.
