Strelitzia reginae, commonly known as the crane flower, bird of paradise, is a species of flowering plant indigenous to South Africa. An evergreen perennial, it is widely cultivated for its dramatic flowers. In temperate areas it is a popular houseplant.
Indoors plants grow to about 1 m indoors although they can be trimmed to prevent them growing taller. If they are kept in small pots this will restrict their growth.
A beautiful plant with large rich green glossy foliage, Repot your Strelitzia if you want it to grow larger, liquid feed in the growing months every month and allow to dry out a little between watering. Don’t allow it to sit in water or it can from root rot.
Loves Bright direct light and is very sun hardy outdoors.
Also Makes a fantastic container or boarder plant.
