, is a species
of flowering plant
in the family Piperaceae
to Brazil. It is a mound-forming evergreen perennial
growing to 20 cm tall and wide, with corrugated heart-shaped leaves, and narrow spikes of white 'flowers' 5–8 cm long, in summer.
Thrives in medium to bright indirect light, but can tolerate low indirect light & artificial light
Peperomia prefer soil that is consistently and lightly moist, but not soggy. Generally, aim to water when the top 1”- 2” of the soil is dry, but if the plant is in a lower light condition, it can comfortably dry out a little further. However, allowing the soil to dry completely will result in the leaves browning, drooping, and wilting.
Tolerates average indoor humidity but prefers higher humidity so regular misting will help.
Average home temperature of 21c. If you’re comfortable, your plant is comfortable. Avoid cold draughts.
